About family mediation london

Family Mediation London was established by Judi Keshet-Orr and Jean Miller, who between them have over 40 years of experience of working with couples, family members and individuals who are in conflict, crisis or simply trying to make sense of their lives and the difficulties or challenges which may be facing them.

Co-mediation: whilst we work individually as family mediators, we also offer you the opportunity to experience mediation with two co-mediators in the room. We find that this helps each client feel confident that their voice will be heard in the session and their concerns noted and addressed, helping to ensure impartiality. The presence of two co-mediators also helps to ensure an efficient pace so that more can be achieved in a smaller number of sessions. We understand that clients do not usually want mediation to be a long, protracted affair. We believe that by working as a partnership, we can help to meet these needs.

Please note that we always co-mediate on cases involving finances or ‘all-issues’ divorces. Children’s matters and family rift issues can be worked with either by co-mediators or single mediators.

  • We come to the work of mediation with a solid grounding in interpersonal work, and are both accredited practitioners in the field of relationship and couples therapy ase well as qualified family mediators.

  • We work with couples, families and friends, enabling you to resolve difficulties in a collaborative way, focussing on achieving the common goals you decide upon, with as little conflict as possible.

  • We are trained family mediators who also have many years of experience in couples and relationship therapy, bringing an understanding of how to help clients to communicate in a positive way.

  • Our Family Mediation service is open to anybody experiencing conflict or problems within their relationships including separating or divorcing couples who may be experiencing difficulties agreeing arrangements for their children or finances, including property.

  • We work with people in civil partnerships, same sex relationships, co-habiting couples and couples who might decide to reconcile, as well as those who are divorcing.

  • Clients bring pre-nuptial agreements as well as any issues which are challenging an extended family, including grandparents, who, for example, may be encountering difficulties over contact with their grandchildren.

Family Mediation London works from a position of egalitarianism, with a non-biased practice and open communication, working with client(s) to support and guide them to a positive resolution.

We are based in Muswell Hill and Finchley, within easy reach of Crouch End, Highgate and East Finchley in North London, Barnet, Finchley, Hampstead and much of North West London.
