About Our Service
The service was established by Judi Keshet-Orr and Jean Miller, who between them have over 40 years of experience of working with couples, family members and individuals who are in conflict, crisis or simply trying to make sense of their lives and the difficulties or challenges which may be facing them.
The two of us will work together with you. We find that this helps each person feel confident that their voice will be heard in the session and their concerns noted and addressed, helping to ensure impartiality. The presence of both of us also helps to ensure an efficient pace so that more can be achieved in a smaller number of sessions. We understand that clients do not usually want this work to be long term. We believe that by working as a partnership, we can help to meet these needs.
We come to the work with a solid grounding in interpersonal work, and are both accredited practitioners in the field of relationship and couples therapy as well as having qualified as family mediators.
We work with couples, families and friends, enabling you to resolve difficulties in a collaborative way, focussing on achieving the common goals you decide upon, trying to facilitate so that there is a reduction in conflict.
We are trained family mediators who also have many years of experience in couples and relationship therapy, bringing an understanding of how to help clients to communicate in a positive way.
Our service is open to anybody experiencing conflicts, dilemmas or problems within their relationships including separating or divorcing couples who may be experiencing difficulties agreeing arrangements for their children.
We work with people in civil partnerships, same sex relationships, co-habiting couples and couples who might decide to reconcile, as well as those who are separating or considering divorcing.
Clients bring any issues which are challenging an extended family, including grandparents, who, for example, may be encountering difficulties over contact with their grandchildren.
We work from a position of egalitarianism, with a non-biased practice and open communication, working with client(s) to support and guide them to a positive resolution. Our mediation service is non legal and should you wish to engage in this please consult your solicitor for recommendations.
All our sessions are offered via zoom and are 1.5 hours long
